Azamara Journey, March 11-18, 2028 | 7 nights

Meet Your Host

Your host – Karen

People know me for my meticulous planning and adventurous spirit—qualities I hope will make this Exclusive VFC Hosted Cruise one of your most memorable holidays ever. I’m proud of the relationships and trust I’ve built with my clients, while helping them make their vacation dreams come true, again and again.

This 7-night intensive Spain cruise captures the best there is to see and do. Culture, coastal views, and long port days that actually let you settle in. From Gaudí in Barcelona to tapas in Valencia, Roman ruins in Cartagena, a rare call in Melilla, and easy access to Granada’s Alhambra, you’ll finish with iconic sights in Gibraltar and a smooth wrap-up in Málaga.

Itinerary

Saturday March 11 – Barcelona, Spain (Embark)
Arrive early to wander the Gothic Quarter, snack your way through La Boqueria, and grab those Gaudí photos at Sagrada Família or Park Güell. It’s a vibrant start before sailing in the evening.

Sunday March 12 – Palma, Majorca, Spain (8:00 AM–8:00 PM)
Spend the day with cathedral views at La Seu, charming lanes in the old town, and an easy beach break at Cala Major. With a late departure, you can squeeze in a scenic drive to Valldemossa or Sóller.

Monday March 13 – Valencia, Spain (8:00 AM–6:00 PM)
Mix old and new, stroll the historic center and then head to the City of Arts and Sciences for futuristic architecture. Foodies should try a proper paella in its hometown.

Tuesday March 14 – Cartagena, Spain (8:00 AM–6:00 PM)
This is a history lover’s port: visit the Roman Theatre, walk the harbourfront, and pop into the old town’s plazas and cafés. If you want a viewpoint, the Castillo de la Concepción delivers great panoramas.

Wednesday March 15 – Melilla, Spain (8:00 AM–8:00 PM)
A unique Spanish enclave on the North African coast, Melilla blends cultures with striking modernist architecture and sea views. Walk the fortified old city, browse local markets, and enjoy the distinctly different atmosphere from mainland Spain.

Thursday March 16 – Granada (Motril), Spain (8:00 AM–8:00 PM)
Motril is your gateway to Granada, home to the Alhambra, one of Spain’s most unforgettable sites (book early). If you stay closer to port, the Costa Tropical offers relaxed seaside promenades and café time.

Friday March 17 – Gibraltar, United Kingdom (8:00 AM–8:00 PM)
Ride up the Rock for sweeping views and meet the famous Barbary macaques. Explore St. Michael’s Cave, shop duty-free, and keep an eye out for dolphins in the bay.

Saturday March 18 – Málaga, Spain (Debark)
If you can extend your stay, Málaga is worth it, think Picasso Museum, the Alcazaba fortress, and a sunset stroll along Muelle Uno. It’s a sunny, easy finish to a culture-packed week.
