SOUTH GEORGIA, ANTARCTICA & THE FALKLANDS
Set sail from Chile to explore the unique world of South Georgia and Antarctica. Each day the route will be guided by nature, and local conditions. In October and November on the Seventh Continent, penguins start courting and nesting. In December and January, the summer brings longer, milder days, and in February and March whales and penguin chicks abound. The windswept and beautiful Falkland Islands are home to a wide variety of wildlife, while South Georgia has colonies of penguins and seals, and is designated an Important Bird Area. The weather sets the agenda on these rugged islands, so in true expedition style, activities will adapt to the conditions for a truly unforgettable adventure.
SVALBARD & SPITSBERGEN: REALM OF THE POLAR BEAR
Embark on a true High Arctic expedition with the sights set on the 80th parallel, just 600 nautical miles from the North Pole. Depending on favourable ice conditions, a bold circumnavigation of Spitsbergen will be attempted, exploring rugged landscapes in one of Earth’s most remote regions and encountering remarkable wildlife along the way. Under the Midnight Sun, enjoy 24 hours of daylight, ideal for wildlife watching with expert guides. From the ship or small expedition boats, spot polar bears, reindeer, Arctic foxes, walruses, and a variety of Arctic birds, all thriving in their natural habitat. HX is a proud member of the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators (AECO). To protect the sensitive environments we explore, we carefully follow AECO standards on available landing sites and safe distances from wildlife, while still giving you an unforgettable expedition experience.
