Cruising makes solo travel easy. Unpack once, wake up somewhere new, choose how you want to spend your day and leave the logistics to someone else. Want company? Join a SeaSisters activity or excursion, head to dinner, explore ashore or connect with fellow SeaSisters onboard. Want some time completely to yourself? Grab a book, find a quiet spot on deck, book a spa treatment or order room service and enjoy the view.
Your SeaSisters Experience
From planning to our final good-byes, the SeaSisters experience is curated to ensure that every detail is taken care of, every moment feels special, and you’re free to simply relax, connect, and enjoy the journey. Here’s what’s included when you travel with SeaSisters:
Seamless Booking Process. Our Vacations for Canadians travel advisors are here to make the booking process easy. Complete a quote request or contact us by email or phone to start your SeaSisters journey.
Pre-Cruise Communications. Guests are encouraged to join our private SeaSisters Facebook group and you will receive an invitation to an online pre-cruise meet-up hosted by Vacations for Canadians allowing you to meet other travellers and connect with our team in advance of sailing.
Digital Welcome Package. Guests will receive a digital welcome package including the group itinerary, meet-up schedule, cruise tips, and emergency contact information.
Onboard Events. While each sailings is unique, examples of scheduled events include an embarkation meet-up, sail away celebration, daily meet-up times for those wishing to participate in group activities, cocktail party, theme events (including Red & White Night and SeaSisters T-Shirt Day), and farewell gathering. We welcome guests to enjoy all or any of the onboard event but, participation is entirely optional.
Optional Add-Ons. Vacations for Canadians may organize optional add-on experiences, including pre-cruise hotel accommodations, group transfers, private shore excursions, wellness or fitness classes, spa treatments, and culinary experiences such as wine tastings, Chef’s Table bookings, or cooking classes. These will vary by sailing and are offered at an additional cost and are subject to minimum participation requirements.
Post-Cruise Connections. The friendships don’t end when the cruise does! After sailing, SeaSisters can relive their favourite moments through a shared photo album, stay connected in the Facebook group, and enjoy referral rewards for inviting friends to future sailings. Plus, you’ll receive priority access to upcoming SeaSisters groups, making it even easier to plan your next adventure together.

SeaSisters creates an opportunity to connect with other travellers who share your love of exploring the world. There’s no pressure to participate in everything and no expectation that everyone travels the same way. Our goal on all SeaSisters sailings is to have a Vacations for Canadians (VFC) host travel with the group, helping bring the community together and coordinate planned SeaSisters activities and meet-ups onboard. A VFC onboard host is confirmed once the sailing reaches a minimum number of bookings required. If that threshold isn’t reached, the sailing can still offer the SeaSisters experience, including the private Facebook group, pre-cruise meet-up, group communications, optional dining and opportunities to connect, just without a dedicated VFC host travelling with the group. In these cases, Vacations for Canadians may provide an alternate group enhancement.

Understanding these details before you book helps ensure you know what to expect and can plan your vacation with confidence.

Will I have to dine alone if I’m travelling solo?
Only if you choose to. Enjoy a meal on your own, make plans with new friends, join others for dinner, or simply see where the evening takes you. With SeaSisters, you’ll have a welcoming community to connect with while still having the freedom to do your own thing.
Does it cost more to cruise solo?
Sometimes. Cruise fares are traditionally based on two people sharing a cabin, which can make travelling solo more expensive. The good news is that some ships offer dedicated solo cabins, and cruise lines may offer reduced single supplements or special solo fares. We also have a Facebook Group which is a private community for women and gender diverse travellers who are planning to travel as part of a SeaSisters trip with us. This group is a welcoming space where you will have a chance to meet fellow travellers, connect, share experiences, ask questions, and inspire one another.
How do I know which cruise is right for me?
